JO-LIN Enterprises, now called J&L Services, was founded in September of 1977, when Joel Senior and Linda Pellicci opened their first McDonald’s Restaurant in Louisburg, North Carolina. In 1979, they were offered their second restaurant in Raleigh, NC. They expanded their business again in 1982 by purchasing the existing McDonald’s restaurants in Chapel Hill, NC and building a new one in 1984. Their major claim to fame is having there likes of Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Brad Dougherty & Kenny Smith as regular customers of the Franklin Street McDonald’s. As a matter of fact when Michael Jordan was asked by Newsweek Magazine what the first thing he would do after signing his contract with the Bulls and becoming a millionaire would be, he replied; “I’m going to the Franklin Street McDonald’s for lunch”.

In September of 1985, the Pellicci’s sold their restaurants in North Carolina and bought four Myrtle Beach area restaurants, and one in Conway, SC. In December of 1985, they opened their sixth McDonald’s in Socastee, SC. This move became a very challenging and undertaking because the restaurants they purchased had many opportunities from operational and structural standpoint and needed a lot of TLC. It took years of hard work and sacrifice to bring the facilities and the operations of the restaurants to a level of respectability and well beyond.

J & L Services takes great pride in being a family run and family oriented organization. Joel Pellicci, Jr. worked his way up from crew, to management, supervisor and became a McDonald’s Owner/Operator himself in 1996.
